- Another great defensive effort tonight as we outrebounded Etown 27-20 and held them to 27% from the field and they only made 9 field goals for the game. The biggest improvement in the postseason is our play at the defensive end of the court. We are averaging giving up 44 ppg in the district playoffs.
- Jordan Burdine has been the MVP of the district playoffs as he had another stellar game tonight with 20 points and four treys. So far in the districts he has scored a total of 56 points for an average of almost 19 points per game.
- Nelson Leon had another great game defensively and chipped in 7 points and 6 boards. Lately he also seems to be more aggressive on offense.
- It was really good to see us for the first time in the district playoffs come out and play well from the start and run our offense very smoothly and efficiently.
- Trenity Burdine only had 4 points tonight but I thought he was much more active tonight than he was on Saturday and if his shot wasnt falling he still tried to contribute in other ways.
- As we look ahead to Saturday's championship game, it should be stated that from the start of the season these two teams have played the best ball over the whole season so both squads definitely deserve to be here.
- When I look at CD East I think their are two things that play in our favor. One, they our a small team on the whole and Jermaine could have his way inside as he has at least three or four inchees on any defender he will see. The second thing is while they are a disciplined team they are not a great shooting team, so if they score 44 points again on Saturday they will have a very tough time beating us. I will be looking at some film on them and have a scouting report on CD East up on my blog on either Wednesday or Thursday.
